KAREN connectivity and service RFPs

REANNZ aggregates demands from its members to purchase networks and services from the market. REANNZ's arrangements for KAREN's national and international connectivity are up for renewal, so we in the process of refreshing these arrangements. In November 2009, we released four Request for Proposals (RFPs) for KAREN connectivity and related network services. These RFPs cover KAREN’s international connectivity, national connectivity, and service management services and Ethernet switches for KAREN’s national network.

KAREN National Network

KAREN's national connectivity provider has been selected. FX Networks has been selected to provide KAREN's core national connectivity from December 2010. See the press release at the bottom of the page for more information.

Work is underway right now on a community-led plan to ensure a smooth transition to the new arrangements.

KAREN International Network

REANNZ has selected TelstraClear to provide the international connectivity for KAREN for the next 3+ years. The new arrangements will increase KAREN's capacity to Australia and the USA to 1Gb/s. See the press release at the bottom of the page for more information.
